This Good Friday, N’Calma Collective returns to Grow Hackney to celebrate 17 years of championing Afro-Brazilian sound system culture with a landmark anniversary session and the perfect way to begin your Easter weekend.

3 Apr 2026
@8.00pm

Headlining the night is Brazilian singer-songwriter Aleh Ferreira, best known as the frontman of the legendary Banda Black Rio, pioneers of Brazil’s iconic samba-funk sound. With a career spanning three decades, Aleh’s warm, unmistakable voice and deep-rooted Afro-Brazilian grooves have earned him recognition across Brazil, Europe and beyond.

A key figure in contemporary música popular brasileira in the diaspora, Aleh has shared stages with artists such as Seu Jorge, Ed Motta and Daniela Mercury. Bringing his full band to Grow, expect a powerful, high-energy live show filled with soul, rhythm and serious dance floor heat.

Before and after the live performance, DJ Tigas takes over, serving up Afro-Brazilian beats, Latin grooves and global rhythms to keep the floor moving all night long.

Good Friday at Grow is set to be anything but quiet. Join us for a celebratory Easter weekend session soundtracked by one of Brazil’s true musical heavyweights.
